Workshop on Harmful Effects of Excessive Screen Time

A workshop on the “Harmful Effects of Excessive Screen Time” was organized for students of Classes III to VIII to raise awareness about a growing concern among parents and educators — the increasing dependence of children on mobile phones and digital devices.

The highlight of the workshop was a PowerPoint presentation delivered by the students themselves, where they confidently showcased their oratory skills and deep understanding of the issue. Their performance reflected high levels of preparation and awareness, as they addressed a topic that is highly relevant in today’s digital age.

The presentation thoughtfully covered the negative impacts of screen addiction, including poor posture, eye strain, reduced physical activity, disturbed sleep patterns, and declining academic focus. It also included insightful solutions such as:

  • Reducing screen time through parental supervision and discipline.
  • Replacing mobile phones with books to gain knowledge.
  • Encouraging children to play outdoor games to promote physical health and social interaction.
  • Setting digital boundaries and promoting tech-free family time.

The initiative was appreciated by both teachers and parents, as it addressed a sensitive issue with practical and child-friendly solutions. The workshop successfully emphasized the importance of balanced screen usage, and encouraged students to make mindful choices for their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
