An Inter-House Debate Competition for the students of Classes VI to VIII was successfully conducted on the thought-provoking topic “Delhi Stray Dogs Crisis: Balancing Human Safety and Animal Welfare.” The topic was highly relevant to present-day concerns and encouraged students to think critically about social responsibility and compassion.
The debate witnessed enthusiastic participation from all four houses. Blue and Red Houses spoke in favour of the motion, while Green and Yellow Houses presented arguments against the motion. The participants displayed commendable confidence and clarity of thought. They had collected strong evidence and statistics, which were effectively showcased during the programme, making the debate informative and engaging.
The audience thoroughly enjoyed the well-prepared performances of the students. Their logical arguments, rebuttals, and presentation skills reflected thorough research and teamwork.
At the end of the competition, Red House secured the First Position, followed by Yellow House in Second Position. The Third Position was shared between Blue and Green Houses. The winning house was awarded trophies along with certificates, while the remaining houses received certificates of participation.
The event proved to be a great learning experience, fostering awareness, critical thinking and effective communication skills among the students.
